• I was experiencing a lot of shoulder pain, weakness and sleepless nights, when I decided enough was enough and I went to see Dr. DeSimone. I was familiar with the staff at South Fl Institute of Sports Medicine because my son was an ankle patient when he played football for West Broward High and also my wife was a knee patient that had undergone a successful knee surgery there as well. My experience was similar. Dr. DeSimone diagnosed me with a large rotator cuff tear that would need surgical repair. Throughout the whole process; pre-op, surgery and post-op follow ups, Dr D. And his staff did a fantastic job of making sure I had the best care, answered all my questions and helped me through the tough parts of rehabilitation. I am currently at 4 1/2 months post op and Dr. D said I am about 60% through the healing process. My shoulder is feeling sooooo much better, and I can do a lot of things that no longer cause me pain. I am very thankful for the excellent care that Dr. D. And his staff have given me. They called and checked on me, and always answered my questions if I phoned in to them. I highly recommend Dr. DeSimone and the staff at South Fl Institue of Sports medicine.

  • My name is Debra J. Davis and Dr. DeSimone performed many surgeries on both of my legs/knees in the late 1990′s. Just wanted him to know that my legs are functioning fine and I am 60 years old now. I am retired living in Panama City Beach. I think of him often and really appreciated all the kindness and patience he displayed to me during our trials together with my fractured tibia! Not to mention his skill as a surgeon! Just wanted a chance to say hello after so many years. Debbie

  • I could no longer run, was in constant pain and I knew that it was time to go and get my knee looked at. I already had one surgery done on my right knee, meniscus tear repair about 10 years ago with another Doctor. So finally my insurance with my job kicked in, so I immediately made the appointment to go and see Dr. DeSimone. I just knew that the wear and tear that I had put on my knee was tremendous. Dr. DeSimone came highly recommended by numerous close friends, neighbors, family members and work associates. I came to Dr. DeSimone with my bang up and beat up right knee looking for hope and a miracle. Dr. Desimone and his associates were so genuinely friendly, nice, warm and welcoming. He looked at my MRI and gave it to me straight, my knee looked like crab meat and it had been beaten up pretty good. He gave me my options and I went with surgery because I really needed it and there was no point in putting it off any longer. I had an idea that I had been needed surgery on my right knee, just didn’t have the insurance to get the procedure done. Did the surgery and it has been 6months post operation, my knee feels 100 times better, I am still healing and going to rehab. The Doc did a lot of work and he kept all of my own stuff in my knee, which I deeply appreciate him for. I am still working on my knee everyday, trying to get my full range of motion, flexibility, strength, stability and body mechanics back! Just have to be very kind to my knee, I don’t want a third surgery on my knee! I highly recommend and approve Dr. Desimone and his whole staff to anyone out there with knee pain, shoulder pain, elbow pain or any type of aches to go and see the Doc! Tell him that Anthony L. Alvarez sent you! They will take great care of you and treat you like family! Deeply grateful to Dr. DeSimone, Paul and everyone of his staff members for being so genuinely kind, nice and helpful to me! Thanks again Dr. DeSimone, Paul and everyone there, you guys are the greatest!

  • What strikes you at first about Dr. DeSimone is his quiet and calm manner. He immediately puts you at ease and makes you feel like you are in good hands from the outset. (He even goes as far as to stick his head out into the waiting room and apologize to his patients for making them wait) Surgeons like to do surgery but Dr. DeSimone does not rush into the OR. He takes his time and uses all approaches possible before resorting to surgery. When all was said and done, he was able to get my shoulder back in good order in record time. Thank you!

  • I was diagnosed with a major rotator cuff tear having hurt my shoulder by playing sports and over use, and due to this injury I was unable to perform any high level activity without feeling pain in my shoulder. After living with pain for many months I finally decided to have arthroscopic surgery on my shoulder, I was skeptical of the outcome but was ensured by Dr. Al Desimone that this was the right approach. It’s been six months and am currently pain free. Dr. Al DeSimone did an outstanding job on my shoulder and I am doing better than ever and I am able to resume all sporting activities. Thanks to Dr. Al DeSimone and his staff for a full recovery.

  • Thanks Dr. D and staff for getting my knee back into working order! You worked a miracle and I am forever grateful. I can’t wait to start running in races again in the very near future. Eric and Paul are fantastic – couldn’t have dreamed of a better team to have working on my knee!!!

  • I’m not a professional athlete, nor am I an aspiring one. I’m a very average middle aged woman and certainly not in the same physical league as many of Dr. DeSimone’s more celebrated patients, but never once during my treatment with Dr. DeSimone, subsequent surgery and post operative care did I ever feel anything less than of paramount importance to him and his staff. It is easy to write testimonials in the immediate aftermath of surgery, when the worst seems to be over, and you are overflowing with relief. It has been more than a year and a half since my surgery, and I believe my comments are even more relevant now. During the recovery process I mourned my compromised knee and had resigned myself to a reduced level of activity. And there was the afternoon when I suddenly realized I was running down the stairs, completely oblivious of my knee. It was then that I fully appreciated how fortunate I was to have been directed to Dr. D…. Everything that my colleagues glowingly offered about his skill, professionalism, and exceptional treatment is true. I absolutely believe that my outcome could not have been better, and worry what might have happened under another physician’s care. Dr. DeSimone is incomparable. Thank you all again for making a very difficult time one full of reassurance with a very happy ending

  • I am a 58 year old athletic male. Dr. D and his wonderful staff have cured me of three separate injuries over the past three years. I am very impressed with Dr. D and his staff in his Drs. Office, his surgical center and his rehab center. I have recommended Dr. D and staff to several people who were looking for orthopedic work. The thing is, everybody knows about him already. Dr. D cured two of my maladies (Ileo-tibial band) and rotator cuff bruising without surgery, but the third injury (torn meniscus) did require surgery. Dr. D cured all three maladies, and I appreciated the fact that he treated with the least invasive methods possible before surgery. Dr D and staff have a wonderful manner with patients, and Dr. D runs a well organized office. Needless to say, I will go back to Dr. D for my next ortho issue.
